Sierra is the third born of 5 kids, fitting right in the middle of an older brother, sister and two younger brothers. Sierra grew up in a Christian housed, building and learning Christian values and views at a young age. As Sierra became a young teenager she started digging into her faith more intentionally and rededicated her life to Christ growing her faith to be personal and her own.
After graduating high school at Larson Academy (homeschooled) she took a gap year to work and find direction of where God was calling her to. During this year she spent many hours investing in students at her church helping with youth group, Sunday school, kids ministry and wherever there was help needed. As this year came to an end Sierra was called to attend Oak Hills Christian College where she majored in there one year Biblical Studies program. Even though leaving Long Prairie was one of the hardest thing Sierra had ever done she is so grateful that God was faithful and ever present during this time.
After college graduation Sierra came back home planning on studying interior design, but God had different plans for her. She began what she thought was just a summer job at a child care center, but it soon became so much more as Sierra discovered how much she loved teaching and caring for kids. She changed her plans from interior design to becoming a preschool teacher. While working she earned her an associates in child development and is excited to be pursuing two more years of schooling to earn her bachelors in child development.
Sierra enjoys drinking coffee, having conversations, organizing and playing games. She invests deeply into people, caring for others as if they are her own children or family. Sierra is excited for this new opportunity working with ALC and can’t wait to see what God does with the year ahead.
